Compline, Night Prayer ~ Wednesday 15th April

We really love seeing St Mary’s expressed in your own words and pictures. Please do tag us just as @glennoouu has done in this wonderful picture and description of this ancient and sacred place. Everything has changed around her over the centuries, but St Mary’s remain steadfast - an anchor in a changing world, a building and a community where all are welcome.

It was a true privilege to host the Deanery Confirmation and witness 34 candidates being baptised and confirmed into the faith. They came from our own parish and five others. It was also, poignantly, Bishop Martin’s final Confirmation Service as our diocesan bishop and he spoke movingly of our calling as ‘agents of Christ’ in the world. Congratulations and continuing prayers for all who were with us last night!

Good Friday at St Mary's 9am ~ Morning Prayer ~ South Chapel 10.30am ~ Ecumenical Walk of Witness beginning at end of Central Avenue (arrives St Mary's approx 12noon) 1.30pm ~ The Liturgy of Good Friday 7pm ~ Good Friday concert ~ Maunder's Olivet to Calvary (free to enter, donations collected afterwards)

Maundy Thursday 10.30am ~ Said Eucharist 7pm ~ Sung Eucharist with washing of feet and stripping of the altar 8.30pm - Midnight ~ The Vigil Watch in Gethsemane (in the South Chapel, come and go as you please)
