The Mother’s Union (MU) at St Mary’s

The Mother’s Union is a worldwide Christian movement, rooted in prayer and committed to supporting families and communities in the love of Christ. At St Mary’s, our branch is part of this global fellowship, joining in worship, friendship, and service.

Members meet regularly for prayer, reflection, and mutual encouragement. Together, we seek to strengthen family life, nurture faith, and respond to the needs of our parish and community. Our gatherings offer a place of welcome and companionship, where stories are shared and friendships grow.

The Mother’s Union also plays a role in the wider mission of the church, supporting those preparing for marriage, standing alongside families in times of joy and difficulty, and contributing to projects that bring hope and practical help both locally and around the world.

At its heart, the Mother’s Union is about living out faith in everyday life—encouraging one another, upholding one another in prayer, and working together for a world where God’s love is known in homes and families of every kind.

All this day, O Lord, let me touch as many lives as possible for thee; and every life I touch, do thou by thy spirit quicken, whether through the word I speak, the prayer I breathe, or the life I live. Amen.
— Mary Sumner prayer ~ founder of the MU
